FAQ
How do I add RGB split without heavy horizontal tearing?
Start with RGB Break, increase RGB channel shift and keep Horizontal tearing low. These controls are separate, so you can make split-color edges while preserving most of the image geometry. Use Original or Compare to judge how far the channels have moved.
Which glitch preset creates horizontal signal breaks?
Choose Signal Tear for short horizontal interruptions, then adjust Horizontal tearing and Distortion strength. Total Corruption is the stronger alternative when you also want heavier channel separation and static. Both produce a still-image result.
Can I make a CRT ghost effect without dense colored static?
Choose CRT Ghost and lower Static noise. Keep CRT scan lines and RGB channel shift at the levels you want; the row pattern and color ghost do not depend on a high static setting.
Will my downloaded glitch image animate or flicker?
No. The editor renders a still photo with the current RGB shift, tearing, static and scan-line settings. Changing a control updates the preview, but the downloaded image is not a looping animation or video.
What does RGB channel shift do?
It moves red and blue color information a few pixels apart, creating a split-color edge.
Can I use the glitch effect on video?
No. This editor currently processes still JPG, PNG and WebP images. Video filters are planned but not available yet.
Is the Glitch Photo Effect free, with no watermark?
Yes. All current presets and controls are free, and downloads have no watermark. Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 5 MB; no app or account is needed.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Your photo is decoded, edited and exported on your device; the image is not uploaded to an image-processing server.
What are the free export limits?
Free downloads are limited to 1080 pixels wide and five exports per UTC day. The allowance resets at midnight UTC.
Can I use the edited photo commercially?
Current free exports are for personal use. A commercial license is planned, but it is not available yet.
